Downstairs guest room/office REVEAL!
I knew this might be happening when I did the basement guest room last fall, so other than the incredible rich paint color of that room, I brought pretty much everything up here and it all works great here, too. I made the headboard (tutorial here) from a free Facebook one and some beautiful striped fabric from Calico, mixed the bedding colors using things I already had and this affordable cute block print kantha quilt, and made the lumbar pillow out of this incredible linen from Calico. I recovered the sconces, too.
The rug is the Chris from Chris Loves Julia's Loloi line and of course is the most modern thing in the room but there are plenty of vintagey/antiquey things in here so I think it is a good balance. It's wool and so comfy underfoot.
Finding that spot for the pink chair was a bonus cause it had been sitting, confused, in a corner of the living room for a while and I didn't need any more big seating in there. But it is so cozy here!!
The frames and styling pieces are mostly antique, collected or from the awesome antique mall in my town, and most of the art are digital downloads. My friend (@ciarakenaston) helped me order and print them out so I don't have all the names but I always recommend A Home is Announced's Public Domain Print Shop for a huge selection of incredible free museum downloads for art. We just printed these on thick paper at Office Depot. Then also, the two watercolors are some that my mom painted years ago. Very special to me!
You can call me on it; this desk setup is not realistic and I took the photos before I set it up with my big monitor, laptop stand, headphones, timesheet notebook, bunch of cords... but you get the idea. The functional chair is honest. ;) That lamp is not really my style but the kids picked it out for me for Christmas last year and I will always remember how when I picked them up from their time with Jason after, Lucy blurted out, "Mama! We dot you a wamp at the wamp towe!" ("Lamp store." Jason took them to HomeGoods.) I actually covered my ears so I didn't hear it, as Jason was shhing her not to tell me! But so cute.
I love the wicker mirror, also an antique store find. Functional too!
Haven't had any guests yet but the kid love having another bed to jump on. :) And walking past this room all the time makes me very happy. Hope you enjoy!

- End tables: Facebook Marketplace. I think they're from HomeGoods or some other new mass produced source. I tried to stain them darker with gel stain, only sort of worked!
