Outdoor furniture inspiration: gazebo makeover progress and plans
So, our large corner gazebo/fireplace is looking extra shabby next to all the new stuff, and I'm so excited to be decorating an outdoor space there for the first time ever! Sharing my picks today!
I'll be working with Joss & Main on this project. Thanks in advance, Joss & Main!
Here's the gazebo "before"--the day we got the keys. I think it's original to the house (1937) as I've seen others like this on houses in our area that are around the same age. (See all the scary before photos here.)
We've done a TON of work in the yard over the past almost 2 years since... cleared/had a bunch of landscaping cleared, tilled up all the dirt, started a path, added chips around the edges... and then most recently had the roof replaced and a gutter added, and had the posts painted. It's still storing a bunch of stuff but here's what it looks like today! Almost a blank slate, right!?
Now, for the fun part. I'd love this area to be a cozy hangout, where we can kick back in the evenings, listen to Jason play guitar, have fires (we have a fire pit now as well as the fireplace, not sure the fireplace is usable), enjoy the cool air during the summer. We also have a concrete patio closer to the house where we may put an outdoor dining furniture set sometime, but this gazebo is for lounging!
Joss & Main reached out to me to share about outdoor furniture projects and this one was perfect. I love Joss & Main--they're one of the Wayfair companies but started as a membership/limited time sale site and still has fantastic prices, big selection, popular brands. When I Google a product name they often come up as having the best price of the whole internet!
They are a great place to shop for outdoor furniture and decor right now, having an up to 70% off sale currently. I am just shocked by the incredible prices on their outdoor seating sets. Here are some favorite options for a sort of modern traditional look for outdoor lounge furniture.
You'll notice I incorporated some of my favorite style elements in there... outdoor furniture doesn't have to be generic!! I love the medium toned wood, black rounded metals, bit of bamboo or rattan, white cushions, and of course, a good neutral striped rug. This look has a lot in common with our interior decor!
Joss & Main has some style tips, too--they just published a style guide about transitional style, and this post with styling tips for garden stools.
Here are my exact picks from Joss & Main. Expect to see these in our gazebo soon!! I can't wait!! I love that rug so much, and I can't believe the price on the 4-piece seating set. It's simple, but this setup will feel so luxurious to us after what we've had so far!
