In this week's episode of the Your Home Story podcast, Ashley and I share tons of tips and ideas for making whatever space you have work for that fall and winter gear storage. Some ideas for new systems for storing gloves and hats, ideas depending on how much space you have, maximizing storage space with your doors... we cover a ton!
Some inspirations we talked about:
- This DIY cubby built-in is a dream. A doable DIY if you have the garage space and budget!
- I mentioned in the episode how I shared in this Instagram post about shoes in the house and it blew up. SO many opinions, read the comments!
- This wire system is a super fast and easy garage storage idea!
- If you don’t have a space to create closed storage for your drop zone, consider storing all your necessities in plain sight! We love this moody entryway filled with a bench and hooks - the perfect starting point for a great drop zone!
- Baskets can be great go-to’s for hiding those pieces that you don’t necessarily want to display. Check out this more minimal drop zone that is still full of storage!
- IKEA’s shoe storage cabinets are great for shoes but think outside of the box with them as well! We love how Charlotte used an Ikea shoe cabinet for mittens and hats!
- Use vertical door space to your advantage. Hats and mittens can be stored on the door, saving space and letting them dry out there!
- Amazon has lots of affordable over the door storage options.
