New or expecting mom gift guide--for MOM, not baby!

I'm an expecting mom for the first time this holiday season, and my first thought was to request gifts from our baby registry--but both Jason and my mom immediately said that wasn't right!! Christmas gifts this year for me should be for me, they said, not the baby. But I was a little stumped!

So I asked folks on my Instagram what they thought a new or expecting mom should get for Christmas... lots of good ideas! And a few things in common--pampering, luxury, comfort, pretty things for mom. And some sentimental things.

So I rounded up everyone's (and my) favorite ideas and compiled this gift guide of special things for new or expecting moms!

Gifts for New & Expecting Moms

• Super soft, stretchy, button-up PJs to make you feel pretty while growing a belly. I'm still wearing non-maternity ones over my small bump but they're not this cute. Plus, these would be great for breastfeeding later! (I've had this vision of wearing matching button-up ones with a new baby like Rachel did at the hospital on Friends. Ha.)
• Calm, breathe, relax... lavender clean-burning candle, and what a pretty container this one has.
• There are tons of pregnancy and parenting books out there, but I feel like this time of life is all about celebrating how amazing and capable we women are. Grace Bonney's new book (that's Grace of Design*Sponge) In the Company of Women celebrates the creativity and success of women artists and entrepreneurs. Seems like a great read right about now!
• Cute organic bath bombs--great gift under $15! Who doesn't want more baths right now?!
• A Mother is a Story is a beautiful book of watercolored and hand-lettered pages celebrating motherhood. So pretty.
• This personalized gold monogram necklace would be so sweet with baby's name or initial.
• I don't think I have much of a nursing wardrobe yet but these crossover/wrap sweaters (option 1, 2) would be cute now and later!
• More girly things. Rose gold teapot/diffuser!
• During pregnancy and breastfeeding, most of us do a lot more snacking than usual. I haven't tried it but Nature Box advertises on a podcast I listen to and sounds like a fun subscription option that provides a variety of more natural/slightly on the healthier side snacks.
• Most popular answer to my question about what to get new moms? Prenatal massage gift certificates!!! I get them through my chiropractor's office but if not, I would looooove these!
