How to Wear DIY: Labor Day! Orange, white, and blue
I guess I've done enough of the red, white, and blue this summer. Now summer's almost over and I want to squeeze the last bit out of it before I switch to the fall wardrobe!! So this weekend we spent a glorious three days up in Port Angeles, Washington on top of a ridge overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca near the Puget Sound... and I brought along some fave late summer preppy/nautical pieces, but at the last minute packed my orange dyed jeans and wore them instead of blue ones with chambray and Converse.
These jeans have been transformed twice--I made them into skinnies and dyed them yellow last year, and then overdyed them to make them orange this spring! If you look close you can see the splotchy parts from uneven dying (the first time, when I made them yellow), but... maybe just don't look too close. ;)
Button-up: Old Navy. Crazy orange tee: J.Crew Factory. Necklace: Express.
Watch: Fossil, husband's from 2003, seriously. Shoes: Converse. Jeans: DIY!, made skinny and dyed
This is like, all I wanted to do this weekend.
Have you worn or dyed any jeans recently?? Pick up some white ones at the thrift store or on clearance while you can, if you want to get crafty and dye them a nice fall color!!
Wow, you've put a lot of work into those jeans! I really like the print of your top, too!
ReplyDeleteLove the color of these pants with those sneaks!
ReplyDeletecan never go wrong with white converse!
ReplyDeleteI like that shade of orange. I have never tried dying jeans before. I have a hard enough time finding new ones that fit. If I ever found jeans at Goodwill to dye that actually fit I think it might be a miracle.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of diy dye of Autumn. I really want to dye a pair of pants a cranberry/wine color. Hope you had a wonderful labor day!
