Results of the Trouser Refashion Swap--on me!
So, since we all swapped with each other, I made these pants for Liz, and Miranda made these pants for me. The full tutorial is on Miranda's blog--you can see how she turned a simple pair of flared khakis into some original and cute riding pants! Complete with ankle zippers. Love that feature!
We all shared measurements--very thorough ones, distances I've never thought to measure before!--so the pants would fit. And here they are on me--look at that great fit on the leg! And perfect length and everything!
Skinny riding pants = SO much more interesting than basic Banana Republic khakis. And easier to wear--could go to work or with a more casual top for fun!
The verdict? I'm inspired, Miranda. I've always liked the riding pants look but never really found a reason to own any. Now I see I don't have to go full-out equestrian to rock this classic look! Would love to do it with maybe some dark brown slightly stretchy pants for winter... could add some vertical seams for texture, maybe? And of course, all those flared cotton pants at Goodwill from the mid-2000's are begging to be made into skinnies. Know what I mean?!!?
If you wanna check out all the refashionistas from this swap, here we are, and we're all sharing the big reveals today--us wearing our custom-made trousers!

Yay! They look great on you! I have visions of many more pairs of skinny, zipper-ankle pants in my future, too:)
ReplyDeleteThese look great on you, I'm so impressed with her perfect fitting! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteThose pants look awesome! I'm curious ~ is there any stretch in them? I love the zipper-ankle part.
