My wedding dress on Perfect Bound =)
When our beautiful wedding photos (by the oh-so-talented Becky of Studio 623 Photography) were featured on Ruffled recently, I was also asked to share the story of my wedding dress on Perfect Bound!
Check out the feature here... I'm so flattered to be asked to share the story of my homemade creation... THE dress for me!
The Perfect Bound story also talks about the bridesmaid dresses I made.
And, the dress again.
Ahhhh, weddings, how I love them! Anyone out there still engaged? Seems like lots of people have gotten married recently, but I wonder if there are still brides-to-be planning and reading the blogs. I'll never stop loving wedding blogs!
Gorgeous! :) I loved following along as you were making your dresses. I'm getting married next October... will soon start making things for it :) (though not my dress)
ReplyDeleteStill planning and following blogs! But it's exciting seeing bloggers who have gotten married and are now sharing their lives after!
ReplyDeleteI just came across this blog... your dress is amazing. I am getting married next year and am just beginning to learn to sew. I'd love to make something for the wedding but probably not the dress!
ReplyDeletei love your wedding ideas! i'm getting married in may and are planning to do your birdcage veil :) thank you so much for the tutorial!
ReplyDeletei bought my dress, but designed it myself (had it sewn in china) because i'm not really a hero with the sewing machine :(
Thanks! Designing yourself is the fun part ;). Glad you liked the veil tutorial!
DeleteHello! What a beautiful dress! I'm a bride-to-be and was thinking of making my wedding sash with flowers like yours. Could you point me to some helpful tutorials on how to make cloth flowers?
ReplyDeleteThanks! Why, yes, I've done tutorials like that before! Here's one for my wedding dress flowers: http://www.adventuresindressmaking.com/2011/07/my-wedding-dress-flowers-tutorial.html and here's a plainer one: http://www.adventuresindressmaking.com/2010/10/fancy-fabric-flowers-two-ways-tutorial.html
DeleteI just saw your dress on Pinterest, pinned by Ruffled. I clicked on it and thought, "I know that dress....OH! It's Adventures in Dressmaking! I watched that dress come together!"
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the feature and all the buzz!
I just found you via google and I love your blog!!!!! I'm going to attempt making a giant tulle skirt for my wedding dress next year :) yay!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog on bloglovin! And love it.
ReplyDeleteYour dress is so beautiful, I wonder if you still have pictures of the process of making it? I'd love to know how you this this awesome job!

Thanks! Yep, the whole story is still up in posts here http://www.adventuresindressmaking.com/search/label/wedding%20dress. From start to finish!
DeleteVery cool! Wish I had you as a best friend. I could use another creative mind and hands. I'm doing tons of fun diy projects for my wedding! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your wedding dress. it is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI am a size 18 and am looking for something to wear for our 25th Anniversary party. Can anyone suggest a dress or top to make inexpensively for a 50 something person who is 5 ft. 4 inches tall?
I need to have 3/4 length or long sleeves.
I will look at your story. You must have had a beautiful wedding!!
Congratulations.
haha, kindred spirit! i'm planning on making my dress, the bridesmaid dresses/gift clutches, bowties for the guys, making ALLL of the flowers (fabric flowers are so much less expensive!), and several other things. for my wedding that is 3000 miles away from portland.
ReplyDeleteYou could sell replicas of your dress online. the world is a global market anyway.
