Our guest book
In lieu of a traditional guest book we're using a photo book of our engagement pics; people can sign in the margins. We ordered it from Costco Photo Center for only $30! It is beautiful--leather cover, faux black photo corners on the pics, lots of whitespace and different layouts.
I mixed in some greyscale photos, and sepia...
The end!
Lots of places for people to sign, and it will be a good keepsake after! And after the wedding, I plan to get another one of wedding photos. Any other ideas??
You can see all our engagement pics here.
(If you did any DIYs for your wedding, or the wedding of a friend or loved one, I'd love for you to share them in the Adventures in Dressmaking DIY Weddings Flickr group!!)
oh my gosh that is so wonderful! Such a great idea! Genius points!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful and I love your pics! My fiance and I are having everyone sign the back of our wedding quilt - I'm currently on the hunt for a good, light, but pretty backing fabric :o) Love seeing your wedding come along!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! So beautiful. A fantastic idea as well.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea. I'm going to steal it and pass it along.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the idea of Christmas tree ornaments as an exchange for guest books (although I too am a big fan of the photo book- the last wedding I was at had one).
ReplyDeleteI am looking into being a wedding planner myself, and I came across the Christmas tree ornament idea. Go with your colors for the wedding or just simply silver christmas ornaments (the bulb kind). They can sign them and you'll have a ready to go tree at Christmas time that is full with tons of love. Great ideas for them to write on the bulbs? Advice, wishes for you two, congratulations, whatever!
love reading your blog :)

Love it! I had trays of pretty paper & pens at the reception and then compiled all of the notes with our engagement, wedding and honeymoon photos into a blurb book. I was so happy with how it turned out I think I cried a little. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! What a great idea. You are so creative. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! When my hubby and I got married, we also did a non-traditional guestbook. It was more scrapbook style with fun questions like predictions for how many kids we would have, and what their names would be! We still read the answers from our guests and laugh! I know you will enjoy your guestbook for years to come...
ReplyDeleteThat is so freakin' cool. What a great idea, and so inexpensive! Also, your photos are great.
ReplyDeleteWonderful idea! We had a board with one of our engagement photos in the corner, that everybody signed and afterwards it was framed.
ReplyDeleteI'm making a wish tree for my best friend this weekend as an alternative guest book. I have cut and handstamped cards with a heart motif, punched a hole in each and tied ribbons to them and have a bowl of mini-pegs to attach them to a vase of curly willow branches. Afterwards I'll collect all the cards and mount them in a book.
Love this idea! I have made several for friends, relatives and my daughters but one word of caution... after putting in tons of work and $, at one wedding people began signing over the pictures. Ahhh! Have a few of your friends sign around the pics and maybe others will follow suit or make a cute note that says something about always being able to look at these pictures and remember you our family and friends! Just a thought!
