Great weekend progress
You may have read I got my wedding shoes in the mail. Yaaaaaaay!! I haven't figured out the dying situation yet, but at least I have them.
My wonderful future sister-in-law gave us a gift certificate to Art.com, and we had a great time ordering pieces for the house. They arrived in their tubes in the mail just recently! Wahoo!! Now just to find the frames, buy them, frame the pictures, and find places for them (not necessarily in that order ;)). Not sure what next, but it's great to see everything.
I also helped my friend with DIY boutonnieres for her wedding. She's getting married a few weeks before me (Aaaah! They are both coming up so soon!) and in an old barn (McMenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse), with red and tan colors and bird images and rustic details. She saw this boutonniere on Style Me Pretty and knew it was perfect for her groomsmen! The bride had made a bunch, so my friend couldn't buy them anywhere, so I offered to help DIY! We had so much fun shopping and then assembling the materials, and making an almost-exact replica with a few details changed. We made 9 of them. Tutorial coming soon!
I also did a totally sneaky thing in my closet--it's not big enough (of course), but is an awkward depth. It's too deep for one rod, so there's a foot and a half of wasted space in the front. I needed more room to hang things, so I added another closet rod in the front, and now can hang out-of-season clothes in the back! Now just to use uniform hangers, and it would look a litle nicer...
Ugh, how I long for a nice closet. Story of my life--never enough room for all my clothes, and I usually have to trip over something to access everything in the closet. But hey--I made progress!
I also have some wedding dress updates for you... to come later this week. I can't believe the wedding is in just over three months. Yikes.
I also ordered a camera finally!! Thanks for your help when I was shopping a while ago. I got a good one used on Amazon. Can't wait till it arrives and I get to learn how to use it!
Hope you had a good weekend, too! I hope we get lots more nice weather soon.
I can't wait for your tutorial about the boutonnieres! I recently got engaged and I want to do as much DIY as I can. Right now I'm gathering ideas and it's so much fun!
ReplyDeleteNice closet idea, love it!
ReplyDeleteWe too are getting a new camera soon, I've never worked with a nice camera before, so it should be exciting. I'll definitely be reading your posts on it!

We loved the sunny weather also. My hubby, son and I headed downtown to 23rd (portland) and walked around. People and dogs were everywhere. Portland becomes alive in good weather.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank god you're getting a new camera! Your photos will begin to look so much brighter and clearer!
