Dress design for Shabby Apple dresses
Submissions are due very soon so I've been thinking away and came up with this dress to submit. Think of it as a springy, preppy pinky dress.
I wanted to use the Peter Pan collar, and this is honestly my fave bodice style of summery dress except with sleeves added.
I made it in pink since I had some and I thought it would be cute, but honestly I'd love to see this dress made of navy or navy with white pin dots! Or maybe of red!
It's made of a cotton poplin with a slight stretch and zips up the side. Hits at the natural waist, and fits closely.
I like the fun pointed collar detail at the back!
Wish the pictures weren't so shady. It's hard to stage pictures for a spring dress in October!
It has an almost-full skirt. I thought about making the skirt a little less full or a little shorter, and am still not sure which I like best. It is fun to wear, though!Anyway, I hope to make my contribution to the great collection of Shabby Apple dresses!
LOVE IT!!! i want to make this immediately.
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for a peter pan collar myself. I love the vintage sweetness this dress portrays. Hope you win! :o)
ReplyDeleteI just got a Burda pattern that has a collar style just like that. This is so cute!!
ReplyDeleteI love your dress! The peter pan collar is to die for, and it has such a great feminine, vintage feel. Very nicely done.
